ANIMAL AGENTS – SUMMER READING CHALLENGE – 25th July, 1st , 8th, 15th August The Reading Agency and Libraries Present Animal Agents Summer Reading Challenge 2017 at
Patchway Library. Free drop in fun for 4-11 year olds.
Events include: 25th July 10.30 to 11.30am - make your own detective deer stalker hat

1st August 10.30 to 11.30am – Bristol zoo workshop (this event must be booked in advance – get your free ticket at
8th August 10.30 to 11.30am – find animals in disguise in a detective treasure hunt!
15th August 10.30 to 11.30am – meet a guidedog and their owner and find out more about the special job that guide dogs do – led by The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association – free but
donations gladly accepted.

Come along to Westbury-on-Trym Methodist Church at 7.30pm on Wednesday 26th July to enjoy an original musical by the Starfire Singers from California. Admission is free but a freewill
offering will be collected for the New Room Development Fund

This year’s church fair will be on Saturday 29th July from 10am til 2pm and will include stalls, a bouncy castle and a BBQ.


Sunday 30th July 12.30pm to 4pm We will be supporting the St Chad's Youth Team's Holiday Club by holding this event. Along
with the BBQ there will be a honey roast gammon joint, salads and desserts etc. Barry Williams will be hosting the entertainment, which will be suitable for all ages afterwards in
the church hall.

FOUR TOWNS PLAY ASSOCIATION FREE PLAY SCHEME – 31st July – 25th August Free play scheme for children aged 5-11 years at St Chad’s Church on Monday 21st to Friday
25th August 10.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm. (Please note there here is no lunchtime cover so children will need to be collected and then brought back again for the

ST CHAD’S PRESCHOOL CHURCH SITE OPEN DAY – 24th August St Chad’s Preschool will be holding an Open Day at the church site on Thursday 24th August from 10.30am to 2.30pm. Come along and meet the staff, have an informal chat, play and have fun. For more information call 07852 723733.


ST CHAD’S CHURCH FAYRE – 10am to 2pm, Saturday 29th July
"Our annual Church Fayre is approaching! If anyone would like to support us and help run a
stall this year please see me in the first instance and I will be happy to support you and
allocate a stall number either inside the church hall or outside.
We would also be grateful to receive any items available for the Tombola and Book Stall.

Many thanks to all who support the Food Bank with donations of food and other necessities.
It is greatly appreciated by those who run the Food Bank. The following is a list of the things
that they are running short of: UHT/Powdered Milk, Noodles, Tinned Meat, Tinned Tomatoes,
Fruit Juice, Rice Pudding, Sponge Puddings, Rice, Cooking Sauces and Biscuits. Thanks, Chris


Most of you will have heard that Josie sadly passed away recently. Josie’s funeral will be
conducted at St Chad’s by Nigel at 12pm on Friday 4th August followed by the Committal at
Avonview Cemetery at 2pm. There will be light refreshments after the service for those not
going to Avonview and further refreshments upon return to St Chad’s after the Committal.
